From New York Times bestselling author Katy Regnery comes her first duo of paranormal romances!
ONCE UPON A TIME…
the most beautiful boy in the world kissed me.
I’ve never been able to forget.
Perhaps it was his jet-black hair,
or the changing copper-color of his eyes,
the intense way he looked at me…
or the fact that he awakened my passion for the first time,
at once otherworldly yet heartbreakingly real.
But after that kiss, I never saw him again.
His name was Jack Beauloup.
Jack, my “Beautiful Wolf.”
Twenty years passed. He has returned. For me.

The thrilling conclusion of Katy Regnery’s first paranormal romance series!
HAPPILY EVER AFTER…
To some, they’re just words signifying a fairytale ending.
For me, Jack Beauloup, they represent an unyielding desire:
Forever with Darcy Turner, the unexpected love of my life.
A love that has placed her human life in danger.
According to Pack Law, my binding is an abomination that must be severed.
It’s ignited a fiery hatred that I must confront and control.
But what is bound cannot be broken.
I will keep Darcy safe.
Even if it means giving up on my dreams.
Even if it means giving up my life.

About the Author:
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katy Regnery started her writing career by enrolling in a short story class in January 2012. One year later, she signed her first contract and Katy’s first novel was published in September 2013.
Twenty-five books later, Katy claims authorship of the multi-titled, New York Times and USA Today Blueberry Lane Series, which follows the English, Winslow, Rousseau, Story, and Ambler families of Philadelphia; the six-book, bestselling ~a modern fairytale~ series; and several other standalone novels and novellas.
Katy’s first modern fairytale romance, The Vixen and the Vet, was nominated for a RITA® in 2015 and won the 2015 Kindle Book Award for romance. Katy’s boxed set, The English Brothers Boxed Set, Books #1–4, hit the USA Today bestseller list in 2015, and her Christmas story, Marrying Mr. English, appeared on the list a week later. In May 2016, Katy’s Blueberry Lane collection, The Winslow Brothers Boxed Set, Books #1-4, became a New York Times E-book bestseller.
In 2016, Katy signed a print-only agreement with Spencerhill Press. As a result, her Blueberry Lane paperback books will now be distributed to brick and mortar bookstores all over the United States.
Katy lives in the relative wilds of northern Fairfield County, Connecticut, where her writing room looks out at the woods, and her husband, two young children, two dogs, and one Blue Tonkinese kitten create just enough cheerful chaos to remind her that the very best love stories begin at home.

Review: Hole Punched

Hole Punched Hole Punched by Susan Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 "I believe in fairy tales" Stars

Sometimes I want to punch myself in the face for not reading an author sooner. This is one of those times. I hear Susan Renee does amazing things with angst, but I got to experience her humor first and for that I am thankful. I also think it’ll prepare me for the tears I am bound to shed when I dive into Seven.
"I believe in the power of a kiss."

Anyway, here we meet Jenna. She works at the Hole Punch with her bestie, Linda. Hottie customer, Jacoby is the candy of Jenna’s eye and she really wants a piece. But how does one make that happen? She’s the employee, he’s the customer. Is there a good way to approach this man?
He’s hot in that I’m-not-sure-if-he’s-a-good-guy-or-a-bad-boy-but-either-way-is-okay kind of way.
Turns out, there is! Yay! Susan gives this couple an excellent opportunity to make the sex happen. Or at least a date. Or whatever. Anyway, it’s pure comedic gold and I couldn’t get enough.
“...not that smelling like mocha is a bad thing…” He trails off for a moment and I catch him ogling my wet chest. “Come to think of it, neither is looking at a girl in a wet t-shirt, but, you know.” He shrugs. “I wouldn’t want all your customers staring at you all day.”
“Oh? And why not? Because my chest is for your viewing pleasure only?”
“That’s not what I meant, although if you’re offering your chest up to my eyes only I would probably be a fool not to take advantage at least once,”
he responds.

A hot, passionate hook-up is just what these two need, right? But what do you do when you feel that deep connection you know you’ve been missing? Can you continue with the hook-up or do you have to dive head first into a relationship? Is there middle ground?
"Stay with me tonight."

But what happens when this little hook-up turns serious? What happens when you begin sharing your dirty little secrets with the other person? Can you count on them to keep those secrets? Are you risking too much?
"I just want you. Here. With me."

These two have their own baggage, but they are set on their path to overcome that baggage. At the very least, they are set on seeing each other and that takes more trust than either have given anyone in a very long time.
"Don't look back, Jenna. You're not going that way."

Review: Eyes

Eyes Eyes by Veronique Poirier
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3.5 Stars

I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked this up, but I knew it was a bit out of my typical read. I am always interested in the paranormal and this book offers something new in that regard. I've read vamps and werewolves and faeries and witches, but the Irises are something new.

Now here is where I would love to see more development. As far as I know, Irises can control humans. I also know their eyes change colors based on the emotions they are feeling. That's it. I don't know the history or the whys or the hows. And as a reader--or maybe just as a history nerd--these are the things I want to know. I am the weirdo who loves the backstory. I want to know these things. I am not sure if the author intends to give us more in later installments, but it is something I would have loved to see here.

The characters are flawed, but aren't we all? Alec knows Natacha's secret. It's just too bad Natacha doesn't know it. The truth has been kept from her with the hope that she wouldn't be in danger, but that never really works for anyone. However, it does allow Natacha and Alec to become closer, so there's that little bit of fun.

These two are immediately thrown into some sketchy situations, but that only brings them closer together.

All in all, this has great potential. I'm curious to see where it leads and how Alec and Natacha handle the evil that is searching for them.

Review: River James

River James River James by M.J. Fields
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you follow my reviews, you'll notice that I have an addiction to Kai and Wen as narrators. They are magical together and they've done an amazing job with this series.

Where do I begin with River James? We already know he's all sorts of fucked up--if only because he stays that way in the first two books. But there has to be more to him than that, right?

The answer is yes. Yes, there is so much more to our River that he very quickly jumped to the top of my STD favorites. Yes, River James is better than Finn Beckett. I know why Jessie was drawn to him all those years ago. I also know how she broke our River.

There's so much darkness and sadness in this book--in River's life--that I am not surprised that he chose to self-medicate. It's also not surprising that he has been in a downward spiral for the majority of his life.

So, what makes Keanna special? What sets her apart from the other women he's been with? What makes her stick around?

Let me just say that what these two have is beautiful, what they go through is tough, but they are perfect for each other. Keanna is the perfect counterpart to River. She is strong and tough and everything he needs to better himself.

Want to see this broken man come to life? Then read--or listen--to River James.
